Explorit's 2nd Street facility features hands-on exhibits, a Discovery Room and a Wet Lab that are open to the public on weekends and Tuesday through Friday afternoons. School group programs are available by reservation on weekday mornings.

Explorit's 5th Street branch is the site for nature-based programs and classes, available by advance reservation. This site also houses the Center's administrative offices, which are open for business matters 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays. This site is also used for occasional public events, programs and festivals.

Mobile Programs for Schools and Groups by advance reservation
Small and large group programs reflecting Explorit's hands-on, inquiry style can be reserved for individual classrooms or for multi-purpose-room interactive programs suitable for mixed grades and families.

Explorit is a nonprofit [501(c)(3)] California Corporation, founded in 1982 and located in Davis, California.
Our mission is: "To involve people in science experiences that touch our lives."
We do this by providing opportunities for hands-on science exploration serving 13 counties in the greater Sacramento region. We engage over 70,000 people per year with mobile and on-site programs connecting science to everyday life for the public and K–6.

Options for Donors to Explorit (What needs funding and ways of giving)

• As a public benefit [501(c)(3)] nonprofit corporation, Explorit is very dependent upon donations from individuals, corporations and foundations. Much daily effort is expended finding and asking potential donors.
• To show appreciation for donor generosity Explorit has special donation categories and benefits.
• Planned Giving is also of long-term importance to Explorit. Bequests can be made for any purpose including for the Endowment which is a permanently restricted fund whose annual earnings add importantly to the Center's financial stability.
• Anyone interested in making a donation to Explorit for tax or purely philanthropic reasons, or who wants to include Explorit in a trust or a will should call and ask to speak to the Executive Director or send an e-mail message now to Explorit asking to be called.
