Explorit at Mace Ranch: Gallery 1

(Left) Explorit moved into the Mace Ranch House in the summer of 1992. The house had been a home since the 1940s and needed considerable remodelling and upgrading in order for it to be used as a public facility. Although the Center now had more square footage than in previous years this was still a very small center and increasing its exhibition and classroom space was a continuing goal.
In September 2006 the Center moved its main public programs to 2801 2nd Street, Davis. |

Exhibitions change four or five times a year and are designed and fabricated entirely in-house by Explorit staff. The exhibits have been called "explorits" because they are inquiry-based, and literally "hands-on." Visitors interct directly with the "stuff" of the activities - there are no levers or push-buttons.
