This is Explorit's main public site.


(Left) Explorit entered into a purchase agreement for this facility and moved its main public operations here in September 2006. The building opening is being phased and during 2006 and 2007 only the ground floor is open for public visitation. Parts of the second floor are used for school class visits and meeting space.

The main business and program staff offices remain at the Mace Ranch site which opens again to the public in March 2007 focusing mainly on nature programs.

The Entry Lobby


This area was one of the naming opportunities during the Capital Campaign and is named for the West Yost company.

Looking toward the inner spaces the signage for the main Exhibit Gallery can be seen to be named the Jonsson Gallery for a major donor.

Discovery Room


The Discovery Room serves several purposes. On weekday afternoons and weekends it is open to visitors for exploration of the various types of hands-on exhibits specially developed for independent use. Some of these can simply be taken from a shelf and set out for investigation on an empty table. Others need to be checked out and are meant for family-use.
