Question 1: Which astronomer, born in 1453, revolutionised astronomy with new theories about the movements of Earth's planets?
Answer:
Nicolas Copernicus
Copernicus was a Polish astronomer. His new theories were not approved of by the Church of the day because he believed that the Earth is not the center of the Universe and that the apparent movement of stars across the sky is due to the movement of Earth (not the movement of the universe around Earth.)
