EXPLORIT ANNOUNCES 1999-2000 EXHIBITION SEASON

With plenty of fanfare and lots of excitement, Explorit Science Center is pleased to announce their 1999-00 exhibition season. In typical Explorit tradition, it's a full plate of science being offered for the upcoming year.

Exhibition topics range from physiology to physics and will feature activities in chemistry, earth science, math, technology and even a bit of history.

"We're really excited about the diversity of topics being offered for next year," said Karen Cebra, Exhibit Director at Explorit.

Kicking off this fall, don't miss "Leave it to Levers...and Other Simple Machines." Then, to tie in with the Y2K changeover, Explorit will offer "Inventors and Inventions through the Centuries."

Next spring, visitors will have the chance to enjoy "What a Shock! The Human Nervous System" followed by "Gee Whiz Geometry: Patterns in Our World." The season wraps up with next summer's exhibition, "Solving Mysteries with Science."

As usual, each exhibition will be filled with lots of hands-on activities designed and created by Explorit. These activities, or exploritsreg., are open-ended and allow for creative and individual outcomes. "The goal is to create an exhibit where the results vary because each visitor will choose a different way in which to interact with the exhibit," said Cebra.

Except for the longer summer topics, Explorit's exhibitions run a mere eight weeks. One month, visitors will explore the vast history of inventors and their creations and the next month will offer visitors a closer look at the human nervous system.

The constantly changing exhibitions allow families and school groups plenty of opportunities for science enrichment.

According to Cebra, the constant change can be pretty overwhelming, "but that's what sets Explorit apart from most other science centers."

So mark your calendars now and start making plans to visit Explorit over the next year.
