You are invited to An Evening For Girls Exploring Careers in STEM! The American Association of University Women (AAUW), Explorit and Da Vinci Charter Academy will host a relaxed evening for girls and their family and friends to meet women in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering, and math). Join us January 31st at 6:15-8:15 p.m. at Da Vinci Charter Academy MPR (1400 E 8th St, Davis) for a panel discussion and breakout small group Q&A session, followed by cookies, cocoa and mingling to end the night.

A few of the speakers include Allison Goodman (Principal Engineer at Intel), Paulina Zielinska (Director of the Office for Global Programs, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine), and Cecilia von Beroldingen (Laboratory Director, California Department of Justice DNA Lab). Parents will have the opportunity to learn all about Inspire-Tech, a Davis, CA based non-profit organization working to bring equity in the technology sector, and whose mission is to educate and inspire school age girls to become tech-savvy and confident.

Founded in 1966, the Davis chapter of The American Association of University Women promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. In principle and in practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership with no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.
