Special to the Enterprise

Fall is in full swing and Explorit Science Center has the perfect way to get in the autumn spirit! Check out spider web cotton candy, games, arts & crafts and more for your enjoyment at the Fall Family Festival. In addition to Explorit’s NEW exhibition on agriculture “Beyond the Table”, Explorit will have carnival games, face painting, a bounce house and much more!

Learn about spider anatomy by making a yummy edible spider.  Spider safari guided nature walks leave every hour, and also be sure to visit Tarantula Town to see over 10 different kinds of tarantulas. Woodstock’s will be selling delicious pizza and beverages, plus there will be “spider silk” cotton candy for sale, and great raffle prizes to win!

One of the fabulous raffle prizes up for grabs is a free bounce house rental from Bargain Jumpers of Vacaville, who also donated the free bounce house for the festival. Or you could win a family 4- pack to Dave’s Pumpkin Patch, which includes admission to the corn maze, hayrides, “cornival”, and 2 pony rides!

If shaking your groove thing is more your style, you could win a free month of unlimited Zumba Fitness classes from The Klubhouse at both locations in West Sacramento or Lincoln. All these prizes and more will be given away at the Family Festival. Tickets are $3 each, or 5 tickets for $10, and can be purchased between now and October 13th. Buying a raffle ticket is a great way to support Explorit and science education.

If you haven’t heard about Explorit’s Community Science Project, “Spiders in Your World” find out all about it and how you can be a part of it at the Family Festival. Explorit will even be selling their brand new t-shirt featuring glow-in-the-dark spiders!

Explorit will be open at 3141 5th Street from 1-5 pm October 13th for the festival, and admission will be $10. Admission is free for members and those ages 2 and under. Those who buy a membership will get 4 free raffle tickets.
