Davis Community Science Fest Celebrates Women in Science

How many female scientists can you name? Most of us can probably name a few: Marie Curie, Rachel Carson, Sally Ride. But have you ever had a chance to try out one of their experiments?

You can at the “Historic Female Scientists You Should Know” event in the Blanchard Room at the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library on Saturday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. Join us for this program that will take you back in history to meet famous women in science.  Find out what they discovered and try your hand at one of their experiments.

This program is presented by the Davis Science Collective and sponsored by the Davis Branch Library, the Friends of the Davis Branch Library, and the Davis Science Collective.

Explorit Science Center will be there to join in the hands-on science fun and help celebrate the contributions of women and girls to the world of science. What better way to celebrate the beginning of Women’s History Month in March than with science?

For more information about this event, please call the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library at: 530-757-5596, visit the Yolo County Library or connect with the library on Facebook

We hope to see you there!
