If he were alive today, Charles Darwin would be about to turn 209 years old, and what better way to celebrate the father of modern biology’s birthday than with Explorit Science Center? Join us at Sacramento Darwin Day to explore the diversity and evolution of the natural world, and grab a slice of Darwin birthday cake.

Sacramento Darwin Day is hosting its 21st Annual Darwin Day Gala on Sunday, February 11 at Mission Oaks Community Center in Carmichael (4701 Gibbons Dr.), and Explorit is delighted to take part. Doors open at 2:00 p.m., program starts at 2:30 p.m.

This year’s featured speaker is Erica Bree Rosenblum, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Global Change Biology at U.C. Berkeley. Her presentation “Shaping the Tree of Life: Speciation and Extinction on a Changing Planet,” is sure to enlighten and inspire.

The event will conclude with conversation, refreshments and of course, birthday cake. And make sure to stop by Explorit’s table and say hello to the cockroaches.
