Special to the Enterprise

Exciting new things are happening as we prepare to debut our latest museum exhibition, Earth Explorations, coming October 15 to the Anne Hance Exploration Gallery at Explorit. This all-new hands-on science exhibition will explore the forces that shape the planet we call home. From wind and rain to earthquakes and human activity, we’ll investigate how the Earth has been formed and continues to change.

We’ll be kicking off opening day with an unveiling event for the whole family on Monday, October 15. We’ll be combining the opening of the new exhibition with our Summer Science (Family) Celebration (previously scheduled for September 8) for a power-packed evening of science fun.

Members will have exclusive access to the new exhibition from 4:00-5:00 p.m., then the event will open to the general public at 5:00 p.m. We’ll start things off with a bang with the U.C. Davis Chemistry Department show, and complete the evening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, food trucks, fun critters from Lindsay Wildlife Experience and the Bohart Museum of Entomology and much more.

The cost of the event will be $5 for members, $7 for non-members, children 2 and under will be free. Be among the first to try out our earthquake shake table or experiment with how wind can shape the landscape. Bring the family, bring your appetite and join us in celebrating a new beginning at Explorit

And be sure to catch the final weeks of the Feathers in Your World exhibition before it flies away.
