Explore Snow with Winter Science Afternoons

Explorit visitors enjoying some winter science.

Special to the Enterprise

Stop by Explorit Science Center on Wednesday, December 27 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. for some seasonal science fun. We’ll be exploring the wonderful world of snow and its importance for our local watersheds.

Snowmelt from the Sierras nourishes plants, animals and people in our region. Discover how even though it doesn’t snow here in Davis, snow is critically important to our environmental health.

Plus, analyze snowflakes and make a snow globe to take home. An Explorit educator will host a brief talk on the science of snow at the top of every hour, and facilitate a visit with one of our resident animals at the bottom of every hour.

It will be a full afternoon of wintery fun. $10 per person or $5 for Explorit members. Tickets available at the door. And save the date of Wednesday, January 3 for another Winter Science Afternoon all about rockets.
