Explorit at the Market

Woodland Healthcare and Explorit Science Center are teaming up to co-host weekly informational booths for the 2010 Davis Farmers Market season.  The funding provided by Woodland Healthcare will allow for a Explorit Science Center Educator to host an interactive, hands-on, science and/or health activity for children and adults to take part in.

Beginning Wednesday March 17 and continuing every third Wednesday through October from 4-9PM those who visit the Farmers Market will have the opportunity to participate in various activities selected from Explorit's 'Health in Your World' program.

Woodland Healthcare Doctors and Explorit Educators have teamed up to create a wonderful calendar of events;
 

• March 17 "Body Basics"  Featuring body systems, organs and cells.
• April  21 "Bones"  Featuring “Mr. Bones” the skeleton, joints, ligaments and x-rays.
• May 19 "Muscles" Featuring face muscles, muscle fibers, muscle  contraction and arm muscles.
• June 16 "Lungs" Featuring diaphragm muscle, oxygen, affects of smoking and  asthma.
• July 21 "Nutrition" Featuring serving size, sugar, amino acids and fats.
• Aug. 18 "Fitness" Featuring exercise and helmet safety. 
• Sept. 15 "Brain" Featuring sight, sound, smell, touch and reaction time.
• Oct. 20 "Germs" Featuring hand washing, immune system, infection and antibodies
