Do you love Mother Nature and her mysteries? If you are in 3rd-6th grade, consider joining Explorit’s Nature Bowl team!

Nature Bowl is an annual science-based educational program for 3rd – 6th graders that increases ecological knowledge and conservation literacy. The program is coordinated by theCalifornia Department of Fish and Wildlife in partnership with more than a dozen nature and environmental organizations.

Come join us at Explorit Science Center once a week on Thursdays beginning October 4 after at 3:45 PM for practice of all the skills required for the fun and experience of Nature Bowl culminating in the spring Competition of 2019! In preparing for this event you will make an Enviro-mercial to alert the public to an ecological disaster of your choice, and propose a solution to the problem.

You will learn the bell ringer game, the team relay game, and the identification of nature’s wonders exercising your knowledge of a spectrum of questions and answers about nature’s mysteries. The preparation is just unmitigated, uproariously wild fun.

Explorit hopes to recruit two teams drawn from the Davis elementary schools consisting of eight members each: a grade 3/4 team, and a grade 5/6 team. Our 3-member teams last year performed very well in the semifinals with the 3/4 -graders coming in 1st place and ⅚-graders coming in 2nd

The ¾-grade team went to the finals at Sac State and came in 2nd. The 5/6 team just missed qualifying for the Nature Bowl Finals by the narrowest of margins. This year we hope to send both teams to the finals. Please help us achieve this goal.

To sign up for this adventure call Explorit at 530-756-0191. A $20 registration fee is required to help cover operating costs. Registration is open now. Come join the fun!
