Explorit’s Blast Brings Out the Best of Science

Send your summer out with a bang at Explorit Science Center’s Summer Science Blast, a community event with dazzling hands-on science fun for everyone. Join us on Sunday, August 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for a full day of science experiences for the whole family.


The U.C. Davis Chemistry Department and U.C. Davis Physics Club will present their stunning shows. West Coast Falconry will share some up-close experiences with birds of prey on the wing!


Citrus Circuits will provide robotics demonstrations, and Circle of Bees will be on hand to discuss urban beekeeping. Indulge in some honey tasting while discovering the wonders of bees in our community.


Visit a real fire truck, complements of City of Davis Fire Department, discover how to explore the heavens with the Explorit Astronomy Club or take a cruise around Mace Ranch Park on one of Peter Wagner’s Whymcycles. Meet a many-legged friend from the Bohart Museum of Entomology then check out some awesome science crafts in our West Wing classroom.


We’ll also have some great food vendors including Steve’s Pizza and Jamba Juice. Don’t miss this great day of festive science fun to support Explorit and it programs for schools and the public!


Tickets for Explorit’s Summer Science Blast are on sale now at Adults are $10, children 5-10 are $5, ages 4 and under are free. Tickets are also available at the door. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.



Explorit’s coming events:


●      The space aliens are landing--this October at Explorit. Stay tuned for more details about Spooky Science Night 2017.

●      Explorit’s Exploration Gallery is open to the public every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, 1:00-5:00 p.m. and every Friday, 3:00-6:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.00 per person; Explorit members, teachers and children 2 and under are free. Come check out the new Nano Mini Exhibition.
