Ring in the New Year with Science

This article appeared in the December 16, 2016 edition of the Davis Enterprise.

Special to the Enterprise

2016 is on its way and 2017 is right around the corner. What better way to welcome the new year than with a science celebration?

Join Explorit Science Center for a very special New Year’s Eve party, not at midnight, but at noon--Noon Year’s Eve! Our museum will open at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31 for a science party to count down to the stroke of noon.

We’ll make some bubbly treats to celebrate in style while exploring the amazing properties of dry ice. We’ll make and fill a time capsule to bury at Explorit commemorating 2016.

Plus, our Challenge Center will be filled with inventive projects to stimulate your curiosity. Make a party hat or a noise maker for the countdown to noon. Or explore the beautiful possibilities of fireworks and commemorate your wishes, hopes and resolutions for 2017.

Explorit’s Noon Year’s Eve party will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31. The cost is $10 per child; parents are free with paid child admission.
