Special to the Enterprise

Duck Days are back in Davis for another great year! Coming February 20 and 21, this wetlands and wildlife festival is celebrating its 20th year with workshops and outdoor field trips for the whole family.

Be sure to stop by the Davis Arts Center (1919 F St. in Davis) on Friday, February 20 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for a free reception to kick off Duck Days. Check out the winning entries in this year’s California Junior Duck Stamp program, as well as an exceptional exhibit of wildlife art by Yolo County high school students. Also enjoy refreshments, a raffle, and live entertainment.

Then be sure to get your tickets for the Duck Days workshops and events on Saturday, February 21. The Duck Days Headquarters at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area (45211 County Road 32B) will be the home base for a day full of workshops, entertainment, and exhibitors.

From duck calls to decoys and an up-close encounter with ducklings, there will be waterfowl fun for all ages. Plus, don’t miss Explorit Science Center’s table in the exhibit hall!

And while ducks may be the star of the show, they’re not the only inhabitants of our local ecosystem. Duck Days will also feature feathered visitors from the Raptor Center, trout fishing, and a bat workshop.

Plus, you can also purchase tickets for a variety of off-site field trips, including forays into birding, salmon farming and rice cultivation. Explore the many aspects of our local environment with local experts!

Explorit Science Center is thrilled to be participating as an exhibitor at this year’s Duck Days festival. We’ll be at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area in the exhibit hall between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. with an interactive display. Stop by to learn about the environmental educational experiences Explorit provides!

For all the Duck Days details visit www.yolobasin.org. Be sure to get your tickets in advance as some field trips may fill up, and don’t forget to stop by and say hi at the Explorit table!
