See You Soon

Special to the Enterprise

We will be starting our Summer Science Camps the first week of July.  We have taken many steps to keep our campers, volunteers, and staff safe during camp.  One of the first safety measures we took was to move our camps outdoors where there is more room to spread out and practice social distancing.  This also prompted us to move our camps earlier in the day to help avoid our Northern California summer heat.

Tables campers will be sitting at are six feet in length and will be spaced eight or more feet apart to ensure proper social distancing from other campers, but still close enough to speak to and others.  We will do daily temperature checks on all staff, volunteers, and campers upon arrival and send home anyone with a fever.  We plan to have periotic hand washing and sanitizing times when transitioning activities.  All surfaces and supplies will be sanitized multiple times a day.

We want to continue to provide an engaging and fun science experience for our campers.  We will do more individual projects and demonstrations instead of group projects, but campers can still talk with each other and work collaboratively just like all scientists do.  We still have some spaces left in our August camps, if interested please visit

Our most recent opening phase also included museums.  We are currently looking into how to safely open our hands-on museum to our public once again.  Our planning is still preliminary, and we do not have an official date yet, but we have made some decisions on changes you may see once we open.  Firstly, we will have to reduce the number of guests we have in the building at a time.  We will have time slots for guests to register for and pay for digitally, so we can minimize contact between staff and our guests.  We will close for a short time between time slots to clean and sanitize the museum.  Some of our activities will be removed or rearranged to open up more space for walking and maintaining social distancing while in the museum.  We will also have a designated entry and exit doors, so guests do not congregate or pass close together.

We look forward to safe and successful summer camps in the coming weeks and hope to open soon to our Members and the public.  Keep checking our website and social media pages for updates on our opening.  We hope to see you soon!
