Special to the Enterprise

Summer Science camp is revving up for another stellar year of hands-on science experiences and registration is open now! New this year is a series of three-day science workshops for students entering 6th through 8th grades.

Blast off to Mars and try tackling some of the problems NASA scientists must consider when trying to plan for human survival on another planet. How can we get there without crashing? Where would we get water? Learn to solve problems like an astronaut!

Or try your hand at engineering and architectural design as we design and create amazing structures. What natural materials can we use? How can structures solve problems like spanning distances or supporting weight?

And exactly how smart are your pets? Or wildlife? Explore how professional animal trainers bring out the best in animals.

Each middle school camp runs 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for one week in June, July and August. A full schedule and all the details are available at www.explorit.org.

And returning this year are a variety of camps for students entering Preschool (minimum age of 4) through 5th grade. Discover symphonies in the natural world around us with the science of music. Or explore the wonderful world of bees and all the important roles they play in our ecosystem.

Visit www.explorit.org for prices, schedules and all the details. But don’t delay! Registration is open now and camps are filling up. We hope to see your campers this summer!
