Special to the Enterprise

As winter thaws into spring, Explorit Science Center has lots of hands-on science fun planned. From family events to nature competitions, there’s much to enjoy.

First, join us at Duck Days on Saturday, February 23 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Headquarters. California Duck Days is Northern California’s wetlands and wildlife festival. Duck Days takes place in the heart of the Pacific Flyway and features a wide variety of field trips, workshops and activities for people of all ages.

The cost for Duck Days is $20 per vehicle. You can register for additional field trips and experiences at

Then, pop by Explorit that evening for a meeting of the Davis Astronomy Club at Explorit at 7:00 p.m. It’s free and open to the public. Discover what amazing phenomena are taking place in the sky above us, and enjoy a telescope viewing, weather permitting.

Plus, be sure to stop by the Davis Farmers Market on Saturday, March 2 to learn all about local summer activities for kids at the Children’s Summer Activity Faire. Discover all the amazing summer options available to young Davisites, including Explorit’s Summer Science Camps. Registration opens March 12.

And Explorit’s Nature Bowl Team is seeking new recruits for the 2019 competition. Third through sixth graders are welcome to join us for meetings on Thursdays, at 4:00 p.m. at Explorit. To register, call 530-756-0191. The cost is $20 per year, and covers all supplies and a t-shirt.
