Special to the Enterprise

Explorit’s amazing Summer Science Camp returns for another stellar year with five all new topics and a new afternoon-only option! Registration begins on Wednesday, March 16 at 9:00.

Explorit offers summer camp for children entering Pre-Kindergarten (minimum age of 4) through entering fifth grade. All ages can join us for week-long morning camps from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and students entering first through fifth grades can choose from week-long morning camps, afternoon camps from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m, or both! Students participating in both mornings and afternoons in the same week will enjoy a supervised lunch break, and a discount on registration fees.

With exciting topics like communication in the animal kingdom and stewardship for our great planet Earth our morning camps are bursting with hands-on science fun. Each morning camp will include a week-long project to promote problem solving and project-based learning.

Afternoon camps will feature a new topic every day of the week. From solving mysteries to unearthing the past, there will be a fascinating new challenge each day! All camps support formal education’s Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards.

A full schedule of topics for each grade level with pricing is available now at www.explorit.org. As always, Explorit members receive special discounted pricing, and students enrolling for both morning and afternoon sessions in the same week are eligible for a 10% discount. Limited scholarships are available. Apply for fee assistance via Explorit’s website.

Registration for all camps will open at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16. A link to online registration will be available at www.explorit.org, or call our office at 530-756-0191 to register by phone.

Camps fill quickly on a first come, first served basis, so register early for the best selection. Some topics will be repeated on multiple weeks. Campers may not register for the same topic more than once. All campers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle and snack each day as Explorit will not provide snack.

These camps emphasize active learning through age-appropriate experiments, hands-on activities and problem-solving. Plus, they’re a ton of fun! Don’t miss out on your chance to participate in one of the most scientastic parts of summer!
