Special to the Enterprise

Landing on Mars, surviving natural disasters and discovering music in nature are just a few of the exciting science experiences awaiting this summer’s campers at Explorit’s Summer Science Camp. Explorit's week-long science camps emphasize hands-on learning and problem-solving experiments, for preschool through 8th grade kids.

Registration is open now for a whole summer’s worth of fun science challenges full of discovery and wonder. With topics ranging from microscopy to astrophysics to engineering and design, there’s a camp for every curious kid.

Explorit offers week-long camps for students entering 1st through 5th grades, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with options for early drop-off at 8:00 a.m. and late pick-up until 5 p.m.

New this year is a series of three-day science workshops for students entering 6th through 8th grades.

Each middle school camp runs 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for one week in June, July and August. A full schedule and all the details are available

And returning this year are a variety of camps for students entering Preschool (minimum age of 4) through 5th grade. Discover symphonies in the natural world around us with the science of music. Visit for prices, schedules and all the details. But don’t delay. Registration is open now and camps are filling up. We hope to see your campers this summer.

Explorit’s coming events:

●      Join Explorit at Regional San’s Bufferlands annual Walk on the Wildside event, a celebration of International Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 20, 10:00 a.m-4:00 p.m. Enjoy a free day of hands-on activities, live music, animal presentations, and more. Visit for all the details.

We have a limited supply of gloves and tools, so please bring your own gloves and tools if possible. Wheelbarrows, rakes, brooms, hedge shears and shovels would also be helpful. Please email Alfreda at to RSVP your availability or contact me at (530) 756-0191 for more information. Thank you so much for your support.

●      Save the date of Sunday, August 27 for Explorit’s annual end of summer Final Blast celebration, a full day of fun for the whole community.
