Special to the Enterprise

Explorit Science Center has three amazing evenings of science fun coming up to add to your summer memories.

Kick off the fun by joining us at Fairfield Elementary School (26960 Co Rd 96 in Davis) on Sunday, August 12, 7:00-10:00 p.m. for a special viewing of the Perseid Meteor shower with the Davis Astronomy Club. Bring a blanket and a picnic, we’ll bring the astronomy activities and the universe will supply the meteors.

Stargazers are welcome to stay past 10:00 p.m., as the meteors will just be getting started. But the indoor facilities will be closed. This event is free and open to the public; donations to help cover the cost of facilities rental gratefully accepted.

Then drop by Explorit on Saturday, August 18 for a very special Family Science Night, 6:30-8:00 p.m. One of Explorit’s flagship Family Science Night programs will go live in Explorit’s gallery for one night only.

Explorit’s Family Science Nights travel to schools and community centers in more than a dozen Northern and Central California counties, transforming cafeterias and meeting rooms into one-night science museums. Now you and your family have a chance to catch one of these amazing hands-on science experiences right here in Davis.

Admission to Explorit’s Family Science Night is $5 for members, $7 for non-members, children 2 and under are free. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Then we’ll wrap up the season with our End-of-Summer Blast on Saturday, September 8, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Explorit. Catch the U.C. Davis Chemistry Department show, meet live animals from Lindsay Wildlife Experience, and much more as we send summer out with a bang.

Admission to the End-of-Summer Blast is $5 for members, $7 for non-members, children 2 and under are free. Be sure to catch these science memory-making moments before summer’s gone.
