Special to the Enterprise

Hawaiian culture is in full bloom at the Pence Gallery on Friday, June 2 for Art After Dark. Art After Dark is the Pence Gallery’s monthly mash up of live music, interactive art, science, and food and drink.

This month’s theme, Leilani, builds on Malia Landis’s show “Pacific Bloom,” now showing at the Pence through June 11. Inspired by the flora, fauna and culture of the Hawaiian Islands, Leilani celebrates the beauty of tropical nature.

Explorit Science Center will once again be teaming up with the Pence to provide the science of this amazing art/science fusion event. Join Explorit to experience the wonders of color through chromatography while designing your own tropical flowers.

Art After Dark takes place at the Pence Gallery, 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2 and is free this month. So don’t miss this chance to experience a little piece of Hawaii right here in Davis.
