Classroom Adventures – at your facility Science Investigations for Grades K-6
Invite Explorit into your classroom to provide guided hands-on and minds-on experiences for your students. With an array of specimens, activities and information, Classroom Adventure programs will supplement and enrich your science curriculum. Each Classroom Adventure is an hour in length and includes an interactive introduction by Explorit's science educator, plus time for free exploration and investigation. Students will use a variety of science tools to examine real science specimens.Your students will make and share observations, construct a framework for understanding science, and develop problem solving skills. The scope and focus of each subject varies according to grade level. All programs are aligned with state and national standards. Teacher supplements with specific standards alignment are available for each topic. |

Topics: Amazing Animals Grades K-4 – Science standards Identify many different types of animals through the examination of specimens and live animals. Understand animal traits and characteristics and how they are adapted to their environments. Simple Machines Grades K-4 – Science standards Discover and experiment with the six main types of simple machines while exploring the forces of motion. Neighborhood Ecosystems Grades K-6 – Science standards Step outdoors to explore the schoolyard ecosystem. Use magnifiers and binoculars to look closely at the soil, plants and animals in the world outside the classroom. Earth's Features Grades 1-6 – Science standards Investigate the features of Earth like volcanoes and the forces that affect the surface like earthquakes. Compare everyday items with their natural rock and mineral forms. Space and Time Grades 2-6 – Science standards What was the earth like long ago? What are stars made of? Investigate questions about the Earth's history and the stars in our universe through fossil explorations and the study of light. Explorations in Energy Grades 3-6 – Science standards Learn about energy use and conservation through hands-on exploration. Experiment with different energy sources and how they can be converted into heat, light and motion. Microscopes and Magnifiers Grades 4-6 – Science standards Make a simple lens and use a microscope to investigate the wonders of the microscopic world from pond water life to your own fingerprints. | |
