Nature Safaris
Fall and Spring Visits to Explorit's Outdoor Spaces
Available Sept. 2 – Oct. 30, 2008 and March 16 – June 5, 2009
Insect Safari
Visit Explorit at Mace Ranch for an outdoor safari experience, in which students will discover the array of creatures that share our world.
With the help of an Explorit educator, students will catch insect specimens, observe local wildlife in its natural habitat and learn about the roles these organisms play in the complex web of life. The program takes place outside regardless of weather conditions.

Indoor Lab Experiences at Explorit's Mace Park Facility
Available Sept. 2 – Oct. 30, 2008 and March 16 – June 5, 2009
Insect Safari
Learn about the structure and function of plants and animals through live animal observation, plant dissection and more. Students will focus on the physical characteristics of living organisms and how these adaptations help plants and animals to survive in their environments.

Your students will be amazed as they discover the diversity of insect species, the variation within the plant kingdom and the incredible body systems of multi-cellular creatures.

Length: 75 minutes
Group Size:
K-3: up to 40 students
4-6: up to 35 students
A minimum of 1 adult per 7 students must accompany the group.
Availability:
Fall, Sept. 17- Oct. 28
Spring, March 17-June 6
Weekdays, 9-10:15 a.m.; 10:45-12 noon; 12:30-1:45 p.m.
Fees:
$4.00 per student for one program ($48 minimum per group)
$7.50 per student for two programs on the same day for the same group ($87 minimum per group)
Teachers and adult chaperones are free.
Extras:
Ample free car and bus parking.
Outdoor picnic tables to use before or after your visit.
