**Interviews for new volunteers for Summer Science Camp 2018 will begin in April. Returning volunteers please contact with your schedule preferences.**

You can play an important part in helping people - of all ages - to get involved in exploring science at the Center. Share any level of time, skills, energy, by volunteering at Explorit. Please be aware that Explorit is likely to be in need of different types of volunteer help at different times. We will do our very best to match your skills and interests with our current needs. Thank you for your interest, we look forward to meeting you.



1. Summer Camp Assistant
Help during our popular camps, which are held weekday mornings. Some afternoon shifts are available to help with our Extended Day program. At least a two-week commitment is required. Student assistants must be at least 14 years old. Training is provided.
2. Science Teaching Assistant
Help an Explorit educator in presenting programs to visiting school groups.
3. Public Hours Volunteer
Assist Explorit staff during our public hours with activities ranging from greeting visitors at the reception desk to checking out "Binquiry" activity bins.
4. Exhibit Assistant
Assist in planning and fabricating interactive hands-on exhibits.
5. Office Volunteer
Work "behind the scenes" in answering phones and performing assorted clerical duties including word processing and mailing
6. Science Consultant
Provide expertise to staff and the general public through 'Meet the Scientist', 'Family Explorations' programs and other scheduled events.
7. Special Events Assistant
Help plan and implement Explorit special events and fund-raisers.
8. Artist/Graphic Artist
Paint temporary murals on the exhibit hall walls. Assist with pamphlets, fliers or hands-on activity graphics.
9. Skilled Craftspersons/Tinkerers
Work with exhibit staff on exhibit fabrication. Special skills might include: cabinetry, metal work, electrical engineering, etc. Some work would need to occur off-site using your own tools/machines.
10. Photographer
Work with the Marketing Department to shoot digital images of Explorit programs and events. Must collect written permission of people being photographed.
11. Animal Care 
With the guidance of a staff supervisor provide approved animal care on a regular schedule including the feeding of the animals and cleaning of the animal habitats. Students must be at least 14 years of age and be prepared to participate in Animal Care Training sessions.
