Have fun and help Explorit bring science to our community by becoming a volunteer.
When you volunteer at Explorit, everyone who participates in our programs benefits. From the students in our Summer Science Camps to the teachers using Explorit as a resource, your involvement can directly enhance their science exploration and discovery, as well as your own. Share any level of time, skills, energy, or a willingness to learn by volunteering at Explorit Science Center.

​Time Commitment - Volunteers should be able to commit to a regular schedule. Two to three months (or one week for Summer Classes) is considered a minimum time commitment.

Age Requirement - School-age volunteers must be at least 14 years old (7th grade).

Positions
Below is a sampling of volunteer positions. Complete our volunteer interest form to add your details to our database. We will contact you with training dates & times and as opportunities become available. Several of the following positions require additional screening measures. Thank you.

Camp Assistant - Summer & holiday weekdays from 9am to Noon. Volunteers must be 14 years of age.

Teaching Assistant - Help our educators present school programs.

Public Hours Volunteer - Assist staff during public hours, Fri 1-4pm & Weekends 10am-2pm.

Garden Assistant - Assist in gardening and maintaining our Pollinator Garden & outdoor spaces.

Office Volunteer - Assist with answering phone calls and other clerical duties.

Special Events Assistant - Help plan and implement special events and fundraisers.

Skilled Craftsperson/ Tinkerer - Work with exhibit staff on exhibit fabrication. Special skills might include: cabinetry, metal work, electrical engineering, etc. Some work would need to occur off-site using your own tools/machines.
