Carving pumpkins is a favorite pastime in October. Most people discard the pumpkin innards, but this recipe will show you how to make a fun slime with those parts.
Materials:
Bowls, spoons, pumpkin guts and seeds, clear glue, water, baking soda, contact solution with boric acid (or liquid starch).
Instructions:
The first step is to mix 6 oz. of clear glue with 1 Tablespoon of water in a bowl. Now you can add around half cup of pumpkin guts and seeds. Next, mix in a teaspoon of baking soda. Make sure everything is mixed well before the last step. The last addition is adding 2 Tablespoons of the contact solution (or liquid starch). This is an activator and will give the contents the “slime” feel we are looking for. It will start to become slimy right away but mix thoroughly to make sure all of the bowl’s contents comes into contact with the activator. If too sticky, add a little more contact solution. Now you have a fun, seasonal themed slime!
Notes:
Even though this slime has pumpkin parts, it is not edible. Additionally, it will spoil. For freshness, place in a sealable container and store in fridge. Even in a sealed container, this slime will only last a few days.
