The end of summer is just around the corner and fall will be here before we know it. This simple craft can help keep the beauty of summer ongoing.

Materials: Flowers and plants, paper plates (color of your choice), scissors, tape or glue, self-sealing laminating sheets. Be sure to use self-sealing sheets as it is not recommended to put flowers through the heated laminator.

Instructions: Use scissors to cut out the center of the paper plate. Next, measure the laminating sheet on the plate, you want the laminating sheet to overlap the plate by about an inch or so. Mark and cut the sheet to desired size.

Next, open the laminating sheet and place the flowers or plants in the arrangement you want. Then gently remove the adhesive backing on the other side of the laminating sheet as you lay it on top of your arrangement. Use your fingers to press down as close to the flower petals and around the plants as you can. Air bubbles can trap moisture and age the flowers, so try to press out as much of the air as possible. Lastly, tape or glue your sheet to the back of the paper plate, so the colorful front side makes a frame around your arrangement.

You can tape these up in windows or tie a string through a hole to hang them. As the days get shorter and flowers begin to go dormant, these floral suncatchers can help brighten a room and attitudes for weeks.
